Graduate program

The Graduate University Hotel Management and Gastronomy was initiated with the aim of meeting the growing needs of Croatian tourism for professionals who can successfully compete with international tourism competition through their knowledge and skills. This program also offers the opportunity for further professional development after completing an undergraduate study in hospitality and gastronomy or a similar undergraduate program.

The study program lasts for two academic years, or four semesters, and upon completion, students earn 120 ECTS credits and the academic title of Master of Hospitality and Gastronomy.

The curriculum consists of a mandatory part, comprising required courses, and various elective courses. The wide range of courses provides students with the opportunity for individual specialization based on their preferences or interests within the broad spectrum of jobs in the field of hospitality and gastronomy. Thus, students can focus more on hotel management or gastronomy, with the possibility of further specialization within each of these two segments.

Similar to the undergraduate level, professional practice is conducted in numerous hotels, hospitality, and tourism companies and institutions. Students undergo training in managing specific functions, processes, or events in the field of hospitality and gastronomy under the supervision of top industry professionals. This enables them to acquire specialized practical knowledge and skills essential for successful independent work in various positions in hospitality, catering, or tourism in general.

Thanks to the balanced combination of theoretical and practical teaching, interdisciplinary approach, and the involvement of excellent lecturers and mentors, graduates of the Master's program in Hotel Management and Gastronomy have developed competencies that meet the specific requirements of modern hospitality and gastronomy. This enables them to compete for various professional and managerial positions in the hospitality industry, hotel sector, and public sector closely related to these activities. Furthermore, upon completion of the program, graduates can pursue further education in various postgraduate specialist or doctoral programs to enrich their knowledge and skills.
